Looking for opportunities to actively participate in mission?
There are so many ways to do this! Of course we can pray, give, organise fundraising events, sponsor a child through organisations such as signpost international or toybox, attend mission meetings etc. But sometimes God calls us to ‘go’.
If you are looking for an opportunity to serve overseas from short term (2 weeks – 3 months) to medium and long term, there are many different organisations looking for workers and volunteers.
Here are just a few websites to get you started:
BMS (British missionary society) has all kinds of opportunities for groups and individuals of all ages:
http://www.staging.bms.web.baigent.net/index.aspx?id=25
For opportunities to serve overseas for young people aged 18-25. Try YFC or Youth for Christ. Year out opportunities are available in the UK and abroad
http://www.yfc.co.uk/international/daretogo
http://www.yfc.co.uk/yearsout
For a comprehensive directory of mission opportunities from many Christian organisations try
http://www.oscar.org.uk/opportunity/organisations/i.htm
For a programme aimed at adults try

If you have other sites that you recommend, please get in touch with us and let us know!
