As Christians who worship in the one Church Centre in Bar Hill, we confess our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour according to the Scriptures, and acknowledge our calling to serve him in the world. We give thanks for all that we have in common; but we recognise that our division is a hindrance to the mission that we share. We there fore repent of all that is sinful in what divides us.
Since we recognise in one another faith in the one Gospel of Jesus Christ as proclaimed in Scripture; and since we affirm one another as fellow disciples of Jesus Christ, pledged to serve his kingdom and sharing in the unity of the Spirit;
We therefore covenant together to make visible the unity of Christ's people in our Village, by doing together all that we can, and by committing ourselves to each other with Christ as our head.
In token of this covenant and pledge we commend each other to the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To this was attached a Minute from the Cambridge and Peterborough Monthly meeting of the Society of Friends 18.1.1989
This monthly meeting of the Religious Society of Friends is unable to formally sign the covenant, since it is a credal statement. Our opposition to creeds arises because Truth cannot be contained adequately in words, and because we who make the words see only some aspects of Truth.
Nevertheless, we agree with the aims of the covenant and rejoice that Christians in Bar Hill are coming together and thereby sharing with and having a better understanding of each other.
We request that this minute be appended to the covenant document.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
