The Community market

bookstall

We have been running a community market now in the village since September 2009. The idea is for it to be a place where people could sell items that they had made and for the village organisations to have a place to raise money and also a meeting place for people to chat over coffee and cakes. We charge a table rent to private enterprise, from which we pay the rent for the building usage and then the rest of the money is donated to projects around the community. In April we have been able to give away the sum of £250, which has been shared between Holiday at Home, Under-ones and Preschool.

At the moment people sell jams and chutneys, knitted and sewing items, jewellery, handmade cards, sweets, cakes, wooden crafts, aloe vera products and make-up products. We would like to encourage others to have a table, we would love to have anyone selling either plants or vegetables, also we have allocated a few tables for people wishing to sell nearly new items so if you have something to sell then please contact us.

Please note that the next market is on 1st May and we will be opening with a new time of 10.30am-12.30pm

So please come and support us so that we can continue to have a place to go and a place to make money that helps community projects.

For more details contact either Sue Gadsby or Karen Austen. For bookings contact Karen.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.
