Family Walk

walk1 walk2

One Sunday in July, after the morning service, the church family went on a picnic. A group of friends, parents, grandparents, young people, children and dogs walked together along the guided busway to St Ives where we picnicked together. The walk back was rather slower but we all made it and the weather was kind to us and not too hot. Everyone had a good time and some comedian was heard to suggest it was the best use the busway would ever be put too (possibly the busiest too). Thanks to Brian Tanner for organising the day.

Small Groups MidSummer Party

One of the small groups this year was led by Emily Lewney and hosted by Mike and Jan Hewins. Jan writes -After spending a term on aspects of prayer, we ended with a bring and share party on Midsummer's day. We enjoyed this so much that we had another meeting where we brought songs, readings and poems that we found inspirational and look forward to the start of the next small group series.

Youth Weekend away

At the youth weekend away we went on a slightly creepy night hike around Audley end grounds. We had different teaching sessions throughout the weekend, led by Mark, John, Ruth and Claire. The bedrooms were amazing! Each room had two levels to it. Some people slept on the bottom level and some on the top!

On the Saturday morning we did archery, an obstacle course and a low ropes course. All of them were really good fun! At the end we did a massive relay race on the obstacle course which was hilarious!

On Sunday morning we split into three groups to prepare for the morning service. One group practised a short play of the bible story we were doing, another group wrote and said prayers, and the final group decorated the chapel with flowers and put up some of the things people had made in the craft session the afternoon before. We all came together and had a great service, and praised God with singing, drama and prayers.
